Kimona, born and raised in New York City, discovered her passion for performing early on while studying at Manhattan’s prestigious School of Performing Arts. Initially focused on theater, she soon realized that music was her true calling, providing her not only with a more fulfilling artistic outlet but also the perfect excuse to showcase her unique and glamorous style.
Her musical talent blossomed in the vibrant streets of New York, where she performed in iconic venues such as CBGB’s and Palladium, the cradles of the underground Rock & Roll scene. In addition to her magnetic stage presence, Kimona also found success on television and music videos, starring in her own music video aired on MTV. She also worked as a model and became a sought-after professional go-go dancer in New York's hottest nightclubs.
The Transition to Music
Kimona took her music beyond the borders of New York, performing on renowned international stages. Throughout her career, she sang at legendary venues like the National Hotel in South Beach, Miami, where she performed for three consecutive years, and at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel in Downtown Miami. She also shared the stage with musical icons such as David Bowie, Celine Dion, Rita Marley, and Debbie Harry of Blondie.
Her talents have led her to perform around the world, including a Baltic Sea cruise aboard the elegant French ship Le Diamant, and a cruise on the River Royale, which sailed through the heart of Provence and Burgundy, France. One of the greatest honors of her career was performing at the prestigious Le Duc Des Lombards in Paris.
From Rock to Jazz: A Versatile Artist
Kimona also made a name for herself in various musical genres, including jazz. She had the privilege of spending two months performing at QJazz, Turkey’s premier jazz club located in the magnificent Hôtel Les Ottomans in Istanbul. Her career continued to thrive in Miami, where she performed at the famous Faena Hotel and other renowned venues throughout the city.
Conquering Japan and What’s Next
Recently, Kimona captivated audiences at the Park Hyatt Tokyo, where she embarked on an extended engagement. Now, she is ready to expand her talent even further, with plans to take Asia by storm in 2024.
